Today is Veterans Day. We believe this is one of the most important days on the calendar. Our veterans of the armed services ensure and protect our rights, our freedoms, and our constitutional policies with great sacrifice. In our estimate, one day does not appropriately provide the amount of appreciation needed for these brave men and woman. The end of a war should be the beginning of giving care to those who served!
It is for this reason we wanted to provide a list of 5 organizations that are fighting day in and day out to provide vital services to our heroes. We salute our vets on this and every day. We are forever indebted with gratitude.
“To foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.” Through a variety of fundraising and volunteering activities, these men and women provide support to our men and women in uniform.
“K9s For Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to warriors suffering from post-traumatic stress and/or traumatic brain injury as a result of military service post 9/11. Our goal is to give a new leash on life to rescue dogs and military heroes, empowering warriors to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.”
Their “mission is to support the morale and well being of American forces by providing comfort, resources and education to them and their families both while they are deployed in harm’s way and after their return.”
Owned and operated by veterans. Their charge is to “capture each transitioning veteran ideally within one year prior to their discharge to Train, Mentor and Coach them in job placement tactics.”
In conjunction with entertainment industry partners, Got Your 6 “works to normalize the depictions of veterans on film and television to dispel common myths about the veteran population. Through nonprofit and government partners, Got Your 6 ensures successful veteran reintegration and empowers veterans to lead here at home.”
