We wanted to look at a few online fundraising campaigns to benefit African communities that need clean water, healthcare and education resources, among other causes. Here are four interesting fundraisers focused on Africa:
South Africa Cycle Challenge
A group of international volunteers jumped on their bikes in September 2015 and cycled hundreds of miles through South Africa to fundraise for Kliptown Youth Program (KYP), which provides educational support and after school programs. This group was founded in 2007 to make a difference in their community.
Swansea Civic Centre Christmas Abseil
This successful musical event by SOS Africa was held during the holiday season featured a festive fundraiser held at Swansea’s Civic Center and raised funds for African educational charities. Prior to the event, many of the fundraising teams competed in a variety of contests to win two tickets to Africa to visit one of the charities education projects. All the money raised was used to educate underprivileged children in Zambia and South Africa.

According to The Smile Generation, a network of dental offices, every ounce of clean water helps people in Africa and other developing countries. Every Smile Generation office held events like Yellow Sock Day, Yellow Bow Tie Day, Red Nose Day and online exposure to generate interest, participation and funding in support of Charity Water.
