For the most part, we spend our time discussing digital fundraising, how to channel its power and steps to doing so.
Ever so often, we are struck by the pure altruism that the web and more specifically, social media allows for.
If you aren’t aware, a wonderful “event”, Photo Doggies for Anthony, has slowly been sweeping timelines. As with most viral efforts, the concept is simple and effective: post a photo(s) of your dog(s) and aid in the endeavor to bring to joy to Anthony.
A little backstory: Anthony is currently a patient at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and cherishes dogs. Every couple of days, the staff arranges for pups of all kinds to walk around and visit patients. Anthony loves it. Unfortunately, it is only occurs every couple days and smiles, laughter and happiness are the true medicines to get Anthony up and out.
So, a close family friend of Anthony named Roberta created this virtual Facebook event to enable individuals to post photos from all over the world. The overwhelming response is incredible and they make us smile; we can only imagine what they are doing for Anthony.
Please think about posting a photo of your doggie. Mr. Joe Magee of RallyBound did. 🙂
A picture is worth a thousand words; a smile is well, magic!
