This is the third part in our series about what we call the “Nonprofit Fundraising Technology Stack,” and in this installment we’re going to focus on the importance of integrating email marketing tools with the rest of the “stack.”
As most nonprofit fundraising professionals can attest, email is often the best performing channel for fundraisers to make requests for donations. For this purpose, Rallybound has built robust email tools directly into our fundraising platform. These tools include the ability for fundraisers to import their contact books and to customize their emails for the greatest effect, among other features. Additionally, nonprofit admins can customize and set up automated emails to encourage and congratulate fundraisers throughout their campaign.
That said, there are many other uses for email by nonprofits than those directly related to peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. These include end of year giving messages, invites to other campaigns/events, general calls to action, and numerous other uses. In these cases, we recommend using one of the industry leading email marketing solutions on the market (Rallybound currently integrates with MailChimp, Constant Contact and Emma). So, when building out your nonprofit marketing stack, make sure that the various components have available integrations with the email marketing provider of your choice.
In addition to traditional email marketing, many providers also offer marketing automation tools as well. These can include so-called “drip” campaigns and many other tactics to attract, empower and retain fundraisers and donors. Additionally, software such as Salesforce’s Pardot (which can receive data from Rallybound through our integration with Salesforce) offer powerful features such as pixel tracking of new visitors to your organization’s website.
